After enjoying our time in St. Moritz, we hopped on the Glacier Express for an 8 hour train ride to Zermatt.

The Glacier Express carries its passengers up mountains, down valleys, across bridges, and alongside rivers to provide spectacular views of a long stretch of the Swiss Alps.

During the ride, the train provided us with informative narratives about many of the sights, so we did some learning while taking in the beautiful vistas.  We also enjoyed a delicious lunch of regional cuisine and wine.  It was a nice and relaxing way to experience the Swiss Alps after our big hike the day before.

We arrived in Zermatt just as the sun was beginning to set.  The town was bustling with tourists, with the Matterhorn standing majestically in the distance.  We checked into our hotel and had a delicious Italian dinner before settling in from our long journey.
